Code of Conduct

All participants at UX Night School are required to abide by the code of conduct. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event. We expect cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everyone.

This code of conduct also applies to online community and is enforced by UX Night School staff members and admins.

The Quick Version

Our event and its associated online spaces are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender and gender identity, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion (or lack thereof). We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any venue, including talks, parties, Twitter, Slack, and other online media. Participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled without a refund at the discretion of the organizers.

No weapons of any kind, alcohol, or drugs are allowed at UX Night School venues.

The Less Quick Version

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender and gender identity, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

No weapons of any kind, alcohol, or drugs are allowed at UX Night School venues.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

Sponsors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, sponsors should not use sexualised images, activities, or other material.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event with no refund.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact UX Night School staff immediately. Staff can be identified as they'll be wearing staff name badges or are listed as admins in our online spaces.

Staff will be happy to help participants contact security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of their time with us. We value your attendance.

We expect participants to follow these rules at the event, event-related social events, and in our online spaces.
